ScotWind represents a major investment in Scotland’s green energy future. The Muir Mhòr project is committed to a collaborative, transparent and innovative approach towards the development of a world-class Scottish supply chain, and cultivating future industry leaders.
The publication of the Industrial Growth Plan (IGP) in 2024 marked a seminal moment in the UK’s supply chain journey, clearly identifying logical priorities and success criteria. We are committed to working within these directional parameters and facilitating early Scottish competence leadership within the burgeoning global floating offshore wind market. Our contracting strategy will mean that we may not be the direct customer for some local suppliers – notwithstanding this, we will ensure that local companies are positioned for success across the full project lifecycle, fully understanding competency requirements, procurement windows and sectoral support mechanisms available.
Our unique collaborative approach to supply chain development ensures that we detail how to qualify for procurement opportunities at all levels of the supply chain in a timely manner aligned to our project plan, help shape individual company development plans, promote and support innovative approaches and collaborative opportunities and deliver value through the supply chain where possible.
Around £15 million in contracts awarded throughout the UK, with more than £8 million with Scottish based suppliers, around 54% of the total.
We are strategic partners with NOF and members of the Clean Energy Cluster.
In active discussions with local port facilities around Scotland.
We are collaborating with service providers and actively developing work packages - we have MoUs in place with Green Marine and Leask Marine in Orkney to explore opportunities.

As active members of SOWEC’s Collaborative Framework Working Group, we are working jointly with other developers to create supply chain opportunities.
